The Mighty Sequel - Devlog #1: Foundation & First Demo
A lot has happened to bring Codename Mighty Sequel to life, and honestly, we're only scratching the surface. But we're committed to growing it thoughtfully—balancing creative vision with sustainable development.
Our immediate goal is simple but important: deliver a playable demo by next year. But what goes into that? More than you might think.
The Building Blocks
We started with the pillars that define a game's identity: visual style and audio. We're transitioning from pixel art to a hand-drawn, vector aesthetic that feels fresh and immediately recognizable. Our character design (shown below) is the first piece of this puzzle—clean, expressive, and distinctly "ours." The music and sound design will follow, creating a cohesive experience.

But here's what matters most right now: playable mechanics.
Demo v0.1.2: Focus on Gameplay
This release is purely about testing what actually works. We're not worried about polish or completeness—we're gathering data on what feels fun.
What's included:
- 8 levels with varying difficulty progression
- Randomized level ordering to prevent memorization
- Core gameplay and puzzle mechanics in action
What's still cooking:
- Refined character poses and animations
- Environmental tileset variations
- Web version (APK available now for testing)
Why This Matters
Every level in this demo is a question: Does this feel good to play? Is the difficulty curve right? Does the puzzle logic click? Your feedback directly shapes what we build next.
Download the APK, give it a try, and let us know what works—and what doesn't. Even small comments help us understand if we're on the right track.
Thanks for being part of this journey. The road ahead is long, but demos like this prove we're moving forward.
